CYEC-horizontalChief Financial Officer: Edward Njoi
Edward oversees all of the CYEC’s financial transactions. He has overseen large projects funded by Zawadi Fund International, the Kenyan Government, ILO and USAID. Mr. Njoi is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a bachelors degree in finance from Kenya College of Accountants University. Before joining the CYEC’s staff, Edward worked with the Street Families Rehabilitation Trust Fund.

Head of Residential Programs: Daniel Waithaka
Daniel runs a community health clinic based at the CYEC and oversees residential care and nutrition. He holds a BSc in Nursing from the University of Nairobi and is a registered Community Health Nurse. As an undergraduate, he conducted research in Kibera on the nutritional status of slum-dwelling children. Before coming to the CYEC Mr. Waithaka worked at the Provincial Hospital in Nyeri.

Logistics Officer: Gladwell Anangwe
Gladwell oversees the Centre’s major purchases and ensures that the Centre is equipped with all of the children’s needs. She ensures that vehicles, supplies and staff time are used efficiently.

Head of Production, Partnerships and Enterprise Development: Bernard Oduor
Bernard oversees the Centre’s agricultural production activities. He serves as the chairman for Zawadi Youth Enterprises, prudently guiding youth as they start and expand enterprenuerial acivities. Mr. Oduor holds a diploma in Information Technology from the Dedan Kimathi University College.

Head of Education: Issa Adam
Issa Adam runs the iLima Nursery School and  oversees the education of all CYEC children. He ensures that children are placed in the correct school and monitors their grades and participation in class. He also tutors children who need extra assistance.

Nursery School Teacher: Magdalene Ngatia
Magdalene teaches the iLima Nursery school pupils. She is a certified teacher.

Head of Vocational Skills Training: Michael Nthenge
Michael oversees the vocational skills training program. He is a certified metal work instructor.

Driver: David Wangila
Wangila drives the Centre’s vehicles, taking children to school and picking up supplies. He also assists in general maintenance of the Centre.

Farm Manager: Titus Mutia
Titus oversees farm production and teaches the CYEC’s youth how to farm He also serves as adviser to the Zawadi Youth Enterprise Programme. Titus completed his education at Mukoa O Level Secondary School in Kenya’s Eastern Province – Makueni District.

Assistant Farm Manager: Stephen Njenga
Njenga assists with the Centre’s food production. He is also a very skilled handyman and assists in the Centre’s maintenance.

Cashier: Mercy Wawira
Mercy oversees financial transactions with the Centre and Zawadi youth Enterprises. She also runs the Centre’s “duka” (or shop), which brings in profits that benefit the children.

Community Outreach Officer: Gladys Gikonyo
Gladys runs the CYEC’s local fundraising campaign. She creates and maintains vital ties and partnerships between the CYEC and local businesses, organizations and community members. She is a trained public health officer.

Marketing Officer: Betty Muthoni
Betty assists with the CYEC’s local fundraising campaign. She focuses on finding sponsorships for the Centre’s children.

House Mother: Phyllis Wanjiru
Phyllis oversees the daily activities of the CYEC’s girls and ensures that all of their basic needs are met. This includes waking and preparing the girls for school, ensuring that each girl attends all meals and goes to bed on time. She also provides emotional and maternal support to all of the CYEC’s girls.

House Father: Matthew Okelo
Matthew oversees the daily activities of the CYEC’s boys and ensures that all of their basic needs are met. He wakes and prepares the boys for school, ensures that each boy attends every meal and goes to bed on time. He also provides emotional and paternal support.

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Officer: Steve Kariuki
Steve provides ICT consultancy for the CYEC. He holds a Masters Degree in Data Communications from KCA University and degree in Computer Information Systems. He is a lecturer at the Kenya Institute of Management and Karatina University.
